Rooted in Behavior Science

Your partner in empowering change

Catalyze effective stakeholder action to accelerate progress on Scope 3 and a circular economy today

Vision

Our vision is a world where global corporations are trusted to drive positive change, and equipped to deliver social and financial value by supporting an advanced circular economy that cultivates people, profits, and the planet. We believe companies will achieve this faster by fostering long-term reciprocal relationships with employees, customers, suppliers and investors through impactful collective stakeholder action tools and evidence based sustainability strategies designed to deliver on your 2030 targets and beyond.

Mission

Our mission is to embed people science and social innovation into your internal and external ESG efforts to improve the speed, impact, and scale of your sustainability goals to accelerate progress on Scope 3. Using shared decision making, social learning, peer collaboratives, micro infrastructures, habit formation and public dashboards, we build social science into your default response to unlock the power of collective stakeholder action. By leveraging real-world people science tools, we help you scale sustainability efforts to benefit all stakeholders, enhance brand reputation, attract and retain top talent, and lead on ESG for the long term.

Values

Empowerment

We believe in equipping leaders with science backed skills to serve their communities and build capacity for greater good. Empowerment is about developing reciprocal resources that are valued and accessible to all. We include train the trainer options in our programs to empower leaders to sustain and scale their efforts with home grown changemakers.

Continuous Learning

We believe in developing long term learning habits and continuous growth through our communities of practice and improvement feedback cycles. From operationalizing visions to evaluating impact we want to partner with you to co-create this evolving journey. Our tools include adapting and scaling to new contexts and developing best practice guides to share lessons learned. We continue to support leading researchers in social science so that we remain committed to learning and cutting edge innovations.

Accountability

We believe in providing evidence based and effective tools and support so that leaders are set up to succeed from the start. We develop logic models for each project so we can assess impact. We use data dashboards to track and visualize progress and to continually prompt and reward the behaviors that make a difference everyday. We teach these tools but we also integrate them into our own practices so that our programs perform at the highest levels. We prefer to work virtually to reduce emissions. We practice what we preach.

Inclusive and Safe

Our programs are designed to address the real world problems that communities, customers and employees face. We provide tools for inclusive and shared decision making and address systemic barriers to change with compassion. We provide psychologically safe, social learning environments where participants are respected and inspired by their peers and empowered to gradually master the most relevant skills with confidence and support. Change is the process of discovering what works and what doesn’t so we embrace all lessons equally.

Team

Dr. Jacqueline Kerr - Social and behavioral Scientist and Founder

Our founder Dr Jacqueline Kerr is in the top 1% of most cited social scientists worldwide. She has over 200 scientific publications, a book the ABC of Behavior Change, and was recently published in the Harvard Business Review. She is a TEDx speaker and podcast host.

Originally from the UK, Dr Kerr came to the US in 2004 to lead a 64 country healthy cities research network. Her behavioral science research received over $56 million in federal funding, and she has supported over 150 other researchers to conduct funded social improvement projects worth $40 million. Dr Kerr’s community leadership program was tested in two randomized control trials and showed 450% return on investment after 2 years. Over 900 community leaders have been trained based on this program.

Jacqueline is a mum of two, loves to hike, and has lived in 8 countries on 5 continents. She appreciates the challenges of operating in a global market and the benefits of learning from local contexts. She sees that the challenges corporations face in creating climate action are similar to those she faced working on the obesity epidemic. Climate action, like chronic disease prevention, requires consumers to focus on an abstract future, while taking difficult steps today. Leaders wrongly assume that education and awareness are the answer. Instead, her research found empowerment skills and multi-level support are key. She embeds these in her science backed programs and translates them into tools that both consumers and employees can use.

As ESG moves into promoting sustainable lifestyle behaviors and goes beyond the value chain to include community changemakers, Dr Kerr’s two decades designing, implementing, and evaluating effective lifestyle and community interventions will help propel your ESG to the next level.

“When I saw Scope 3, I didn’t see categories of emissions, I saw people who could lead change. Scope 3 requires large scale long lasting multi-sector change. That can be intimidating to most people, but I love the challenge. Coming from a background in healthy and sustainable cities, Scope 3 regulations are just the opportunity leaders like me have been looking for to work more with corporations across new sectors.  Scope 3 is a huge opportunity for corporate sustainability leaders to play a central role as network sponsors and orchestrators of widespread change. Together we can have much more impact. And importantly, my decades of work with multiple stakeholders means I can provide evidence based tools for how to collaborate effectively and disseminate best practices to reduce Scope 3 emissions.“
